EDhear successfully managed public relations for sold-out 100 Black Men of Atlanta Honors Gala



EDhear was tapped to manage public relations for the second annual 100 Black Men of Atlanta 100 Honors Gala. As a result of the EDhear team's efforts, leadership of the 100 Black Men of Atlanta appeared on WVEE FM (V-103), Magic 107.5, Star 94FM, WAOK, and CBS46 Television without making a media buy. Tickets for the gala sold out a week prior to the event.


"The 100 Black Men of Atlanta is an essential organization in the Atlanta community," said EDhear President Stephen J. Alford. "We are honored to help spread the news about their work and the work of the luminaries honored at the gala."



The gala was held at the Omni Atlanta Hotel on October 5, 2019 and honored some of Atlanta's most notable luminaries. 39th U.S. President Jimmy Carter was honored with the Andrew Young Lifetime Achievement Award. NBA Legend Dominique Wilkins received the Nathaniel R. Goldston, III Trailblazer Award. Donata Russell Ross, H. Jerome Russell, Jr. and Michael B. Russell received the Maynard Jackson Community Impact Award. The Georgia Power Company was honored with the Chairman's Circle Corporate Responsibility Award. Gathering Spot Founder's Ryan Wilson and T.K. Petersen were honored with the John Lewis Emerging Leader Award. New York Stock Exchange Equity Trader and Author Lauren Simmons received the Next Gen Emerging Leader Award.



The ceremony was hosted by WSB-TV Anchors Loris Wilson and Fred Blankenship. The Honorary Co-Chairs were Southwest Airlines Community Outreach Manager of National Relationships Quinnie Jenkins, Mary Parker Foundation President & C.E.O. Mary Parker, Former NFL Quarterback & Heisman Trophy Winner Danny Wuerffel.


Proceeds from the 100 Honors Gala benefited Project Success. Hundreds of distinguished guests attended the sold-out black-tie extravaganza.
